Olbermann on O'Reilly: "Why does [he] still have a job?"

O' Liar to speak at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children soon and yet says that children LIKE being victims! How very nice.

Media Matters
January 19, 2007

On the January 18 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann attacked Fox News host Bill O'Reilly for comments he made regarding the kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck -- who was abducted in October 2002, held for four years, and recently found in Missouri. As Media Matters for America documented, on the January 15 edition of his television show, O'Reilly said: "The situation here for this kid looks to me to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents. He didn't have to go to school. He could run around and do whatever he wanted," later stating, "There was an element here that this kid liked about his circumstances." The following day, as Media Matters also noted, O'Reilly addressed the criticism surrounding his comments by saying: "I made no awful remarks ... just asked questions."
On Countdown, Olbermann said of O'Reilly: "It boggles the mind that, in 2007, a public figure can still blame the victim -- a victim who is a teenage boy -- and not lose his job over it." He later added: "We've all gotten a lot of amusement from Mr. O'Reilly's baseline idiocy, but this is reprehensible. It reeks of perversity and inhumanity. Simply put, Mr. O'Reilly no longer deserves any place on the public stage."

From the January 18 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:
OLBERMAN: And as a commentator insists, a second victim did not escape because he was having a lot more fun than he did at home. That boy's parents reveal they believe their son was sexually abused. Why does the commentator still have a job?
OLBERMAN: It boggles the mind that, in 2007, a public figure can still blame the victim -- a victim who is a teenage boy -- and not lose his job over it. But Bill O'Reilly has told his audience that Shawn Hornbeck, abducted at age 11, more than four years ago -- rescued just a week ago -- never escaped because he didn't want to.
"The situation here for this kid looks to me to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents," O'Reilly said. "He didn't have to go to school; he could run around and do whatever he wanted." A lot more fun indeed -- like suffering sexual abuse at the hands of his kidnapper as Shawn Hornbeck's parents today said they believed happened.

Perhaps Bill is still on the air because he is number 1 in his timeslot with over 2 million viewers per night

Perhaps his repeat at 11PM has twice the viewers CNN and three times PMSNBC has

Perhaps if Keith would not acting like a rabid dog on his little watched show, he would attract more viewers.

Keith would love to silence Bill, Rush, and Sean. That is what libs are trying to do now with the Unfairness Doctrine. When libs cannot compete, they try to silence them.

And I thought libs were for free speech. Or do they only support free speech when it is free speech they agree with?

LOL----but yet you say NOTHING when Bush shits on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Habeas Corpus? John McTraitor (McCain) and Daddy Bush wants to silence bloggers, yet you say NOTHING about that! Youre just a walking fucking spin machine. This issue with O' Reilly is NOT about free speech and you fucking KNOW it, it's about OFFENSIVE and INSENITIVE comments and being FIRED over them! Lets see if O' Liar still speaks at the Missing and Exploited Children Center----when he DOESNT, are you gonna say the MECC are against free speech too? God, youre an ASS! Like Ive said 1,000 times, who cares about O' Reillys numbers? MOST people that watch him are over 60----thats FACT, and what do most people over 60 do? WATCH TV. Keith is still winning with the 25-54 age group. I wouldnt even care if Keith was LOSING in that age group----because NUMBERS does NOT mean RIGHT! Christians claim THEY are right too, but are they the world's leading Religion? NOOOOOOOO. You dont have to thank me for the GREAT point I just made---tip your waitress.

Once agin Larry you are wrong and full of shit

O'Reilly wins the 25-54 age group by a wide margin

On 1/17 in this age group Bill had 338,000 viwers and Keith had is weak 192,000. Now you can spin how you really do not care about the numbers and how you are wrong once again

Anyone who does not agree with Larry the Nut is a Nazi. You rant about free speech now you want the government or the Dems in power to decide what is offensive

Real Truth Online said...

WRONG! Keith wins that age group. Apparently, you must get your info from! And if you dont think saying that a kidnapped child LIKES being a victim is offensive---then you shouldnt be free in society---in fact, if you agree with O' Reilly, then I might have the local authorites check you out so you will be on the top of their list the next time a child is abducted.

hey tweds, answer me just ONE easy question since you cant handle the hard ones. Just answer this----very easy question: Are you a Christian? Yes or no

so know liberal Larry knows more about cable news ratings then one of the companies that provides that information.

So now is a partisan website?

Of course anyone who dares to disagree with liberal Larry must be a right wing plant. Never confuse liberal Larry with facts, he is confused enough already

Real Truth Online said...

My goodness, my EASIET question to date and he STILL ignored it! Why are you afraid of answering a harmless question like "are you a Christian?" Answer the question please....Im gonna keep asking until you answer it. Its a SIMPLE yes or no.

Once again, O'Reilly destroys Keith

On 1/19 Bill had 2,536,000 viewers while Keith had a paltry 694,000

3 1/2 to 1 margin.

To liberal Larry this must be another right wing conspiracy. O'Reilly can't be this popular!!!!

Keith did not do himself any favors by pissing off the millions of '24' fans

and STILL he IGNORES my question----so I'll keep asking it: Are you a Christian? if so, which branch?

Olbermann Only Slams Insight Magazine When it's Not Bashing the Bush Administration

Posted by Noel Sheppard on January 23, 2007 - 18:42.
As reported by NewsBusters, Keith Olbermann during Monday’s “Countdown” declared Insight magazine as part of a quartet of the Worst Persons in the World. Its crime? Publishing an article suggesting that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) attended a Muslim madrassa as a child.

In reality, KO should point that castigating finger at himself given that he hasn’t always been so critical of the conservative magazine. In fact, in the eight other times that a LexisNexis search identified KO referenced Insight, he quoted from the publication quite warmly as if it was a credible source (h/t NewsBusters member “mlong”).

What did all those eight instances have in common? Well, if you guessed that the magazine was criticizing President Bush or a member of his administration, you’d be correct.

Hysterically, the most egregious example of Olby’s hypocrisy on this issue was him actually using an Insight article to declare Karl Rove “The Worst Person in the World” on September 6, 2006:

I can here liberal Larry now - "This is a right wing hack website!!!"

No wonder his show is in the toilet

....and yet I sit here and wonder how that answered my question.....more rambling from Mr. Copy and Paste. You wouldnt know an original thought if it bit you in your falafel. Now back to my question. Are you a Christian?

Liberal Larry never likes to hear how his man Keith lies and slants his "news"

He does not refute the story but attacks the person that had the gall to post the facts

Good job IGNORING the question once AGAIN! As I predicted. WooooWooooWooooo, I hear sirens....are the cops there yet?
